Description The Mortgage Loan Specialist (MLS) will generate a minimum 70% of their mortgage sales goals by managing the end-to-end consumer mortgage referral requests that originate within assigned Banking Centers. Additional sources of revenue to meet 100% of mortgage sales goals may be developed through self-sourcing from relationships with local realtors and/or builders. The MLS will successfully complete pre-assigned training activities, achieve personal production goals, and coach Banking Center associates on best practice referral strategies. This position may be subject to SAFE Act Registration Requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all applicants for employment who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements. If at any time the Bank determines that your position requires SAFE Act registration, you will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in your immediate termination. Additional Information: Drive mortgage sales in the Banking Center Drive majority of sales production on new mortgage business by selling all 1st mortgage products in assigned Banking Center(s) through existing and prospective mortgage referrals Manage referrals end-to-end from assigned Banking Center to ensure effective fulfillment and timely closing Partner with Banking Center Manager to drive overall store mortgage results. May include planning daily/weekly activities for meeting and exceeding sales goals, including referral targets for banking center teammates Track and measure personal and store mortgage sales results against forecast and plan Monitor and post daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and pipeline Coach Banking Center associates to identify and uncover mortgage needs and successfully transfer opportunities Provide shoulder-to-shoulder coaching to help Banking Center associates identify mortgage opportunities and generate referrals. *This compensation structure for this role is commission only. Qualifications Required Skills: * Must have a minimum of 12- 18 months mortgage selling experience * Experience of self sourced business * Demonstrated ability to coach others * Ability to work as part of a team, lead and influence teammates on mortgage business priorities * Professional and effective interpersonal skills * Strong computer skills including a fundamental understanding of standard office applications * Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a variety of audiences * Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives * Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully in an highly complex and matrix environment Desired Skills: * Banking center experience as a manager or senior seller * Proven sales track record * Other financial services sales experience * Experience with self-sourcing
