Sunmark FCU is looking for people with prior mortgage experience to work processing loans in our Mortgage Department at our Administrative Offices located at 1187 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham.


These are temporary positions, duration, based on volume of loans in the department.

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 – 4:30 pm. Some evening and weekend hours as needed. The mortgage department is flexible with the shift but MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hours.

 

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Mortgage Originators and mortgage vendors through the mortgage process. Works in conjunction with the Mortgage Team to ensure an efficient workflow. 

Primary Responsibilities:

1.      Reviews mortgage applications submitted from Mortgage Originators. Reviews income, Assets, DU/LP Findings, and Appraisals prior to submission to investors.  Re-scores loans through automatic underwriting system if necessary. Ensures that all documentations needed for the underwriting analysis is present and accurate prior to submission to underwriting. 

2.      Reviews Good Faith Estimate and Truth-In-Lending Disclosures to ensure all regulation Z procedures were followed.  

3.      Re-disclose Good Faith Estimate and Truth-In-Lending if a change of circumstance has occurred.

4.      Reviews purchase commitments from investors.  Collects any outstanding conditions from member in order to get loans to cleared to close status.

5.      Perform written and/or verbal verifications of employment for all applicants within 10 business days of closing. 

6.      Keeps in constant contact with members, mortgage originators, Realtors, Attorney’s, etc. on status of the mortgage application. 

7.      Prepares copies and mails commitment letters for all approved mortgage loans to all appropriate parties. Indicates the amount approved and specific terms and conditions of the loan. Types, copies and mails counter-offer and denial letters which include the reason for denial and the details for counter-offer.

8.      Uses EGMIC to process all mortgage files paperless. Updates status of applications in point and makes comments in conversation log with application status

9.      Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

1.      A high school diploma or equivalent;

2.      Knowledge of mortgage industry, processing experience preferred;

3.      Knowledge using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Calyx Point;

4.      Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

5.      Willingness to work flexible hours, including some Saturdays; and

6.      Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others, including exhibiting a courteous, conscientious, and generally businesslike manner in the workplace.
