Motion Solutions Engineer
- Provide support to Sales team members to identify and recommend solutions to applications at customers. This position will serve as the “Motion Guru” for the regional sales force. Sales people will call on this position to engage on specific customer opportunities to identify solvable applications, recommend and demo a solution, and help close the sale.
- Implementation of product launch plans at a regional level. Coordinate marketing activities and programs with Motion Product team, Marketing Communications, and Sales teams.
- Development of technical materials and tools to support development of channel partners, sales/support staffs, and major customers.
- Develop and implement servo and motion certification courses for Omron Channel Partners, System Integrators, and Omron specialist personnel.
- Work with Sales and Marketing management to determine/develop target customers across multiple vertical industries; Packaging, FB, etc.
- Work with Motion Solutions Group to assess market size, trends, application requirements, and to develop solutions to unique segment needs that address the motion industry.
- Monitor activities on key target accounts, report activities, and measure sales/account activities for servo and motion control products.
- Identifying, from marketing information and knowledge of the area, potential accounts that match Omron's target market.
- Executing high velocity sales with OEM and End User customer accounts using applications that have been identified to have competitive advantage in target markets.
- Successfully building relationships with customers and distributor partners to achieve lasting relationships, assigned sales, and corporate goals for the company.
- Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner.
- Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, customers, distributors, and colleagues.
- Bachelor of Science, Electrical, or Mechanical in Engineering from a four year college or related technical school.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated application solutions sales experience with OEM and End User customers.
- Five to seven years of engineering experience in servo and motion control products focused on the industrial market segment.
- Knowledge of automation products involving servo and motion control, PLCs, Ladder Logic, flow charts, and industrial programming techniques.
- Knowledge of communications platforms, motion bus networks, Mechatrolink, DeviceNet, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and MS Project.
- Ability to display leadership characteristics and able to motivate other individuals.
- Ability to share detailed technical information in an easy to understand manner working in a consultative manner with customers.
