Motor Claims Technician

Full Job Description

This is a technical desk based role. Your main responsibilities will be focussed on handling third party recoveries and accidental damage-theft loss claims. Some of your main duties will include:
- Handling third party motor liability claims

- Assess liability and quantum from advice through to settlement

- E-mail and telephone correspondence

- Client updates

- Maintain the diary process

- Identify suspicious-potentially fraudulent information

- Identify and evaluate evidence

The successful candidate will have experience handling motor vehicle claims, third party recoveries and accidental damage in an insurer or broker environment. You must be knowledgeable and confident in your approach to clients and customers to uphold the companies reputation. If you have not completed insurance qualifications you will be encouraged to do so. Other qualities must include:

- The ability to identify and evaluate suspicious information-evidence and apply correct procedures to avoid fraudulent claims

- A working knowledge of the principles of insurance

- Familiar with client service level agreements

- The ability to apply a thorough knowledge of current case law, statute and other legal liabilities

- Strong PC literacy

- A proactive attitude to claims settlement

- Self - motivated and driven
