EMPLOYEE JOB POSTING Title: Motor Equipment Repairperson (Mechanic) Department: DPW Garage Pay Grade: $20.83 per hour (44 hours per week) $500.00 tool allowance per year $100.00 clothing allowance year $1,000 Inspector License stipend year Additional $.50 hourly pay for CDL per hour Union: Local 3 - Laborers Duties: Trouble shoots and performs repair of diesel equipment. Maintains and repairs diesel engines on trucks, heavy construction equipment and other diesel power equipment; repair ignition, fuel, and electrical systems; disassembles and overhauls engines and transmissions; replaces clutches and other parts. Performs other preventive maintenance work such as adjusting brakes and related work. Also, must have some knowledge in welding and, with gasoline engines. May require 4 hours on Saturdays as needed. Ability to trouble shoot and repair late model automobiles with electric fuel injection and antilock brakes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have at least five years experience in working as a diesel mechanic; Commercial Inspector s License as properly qualified under 540 CMR 4.08(1)(h) with an air- conditioning refrigerant endorsement, valid motor equipment license CDL. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification and bilingual (Spanish/English preferred) preferred.
