Motor Fleet Underwriter

Full Job Description

- Make decisions regarding the acceptance and rating of complex insurance risks within laid down guidelines and own Personal Underwriting Authority - taking referrals from underwriters and referring upwards to Underwriting Manager and Head Office as appropriate.
- Process and complete all necessary documentation in relation to both new and existing risks including renewal reviews and negotiation with brokers.
- Maintain and develop broker relationships.
- Key Result areas are GWP (New Business - Rate Increase - Lapse Ratio), Loss Ratio, Timely processing of paperwork (within appropriate SLA`s).
- Adherence to FSA and company governance and control procedures.
- Broker Relationships and Customer Satisfaction.

The right person for thisMotor Fleet Underwriterposition will have
- Comprehensive Experience of Underwriting complex motor commercial insurance (essential).
- Negotiation and sales skills, strong problem solving and decision making.
- Relationship building.
- Proven experience of being accountable for profitable underwriting performance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Preferably ACII qualified or working towards.
- Whereas previous experience of the agricultural market would be an advantage it is not essential as full training will be given.

My client is a well-known and highly-respected UK-based national insurer with specialist niche business lines and clients.

£45,000 - £55,000 basic salary (dependent upon experience) with very competitive flexible benefits and bonus package.

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
