Job Description MPS Product Engineer: 834971 Job Summary: We are seeking a bright and energetic MPS Product Engineer who can help Staples by offering their technical expertise on print devices in the area of embedded firmware and workflow solutions. This role would be engaged during the full lifecycle of a Managed Print Services engagement from lead generation and proposal/quoting to ongoing customer management and support and finally to renewal and expansion. Role may require 10-20% travel. Primary Responsibilities: Resident expert on embedded applications that run in the output devices as well as workflow solutions that optimize business processes involving the output devices - Embedded Solutions include but are not limited to applications such as the eCopy suite, Pharos, Lexmark's VSC suite, etc. - The Product Engineer would be responsible for recommending the best solution to meet a customer's requirement and ultimately installing and configuring the application - The Product Engineer needs to be well versed in security protocols and the different levels of security available on MFPs particularly - The Product Engineer also needs to be knowledgeable of "Scan to" functionality and able to support integrations from the leading manufacturer's MFPs into ECM software packages such as Filenet, Sharepoint,Documentum, etc. - Specializes and advises on the "speeds and feeds" of output devices; Recommend appropriate models, features, parts, components, and consumables to meet a particular customer's requirements as well as those necessary to support security requirements and/or workflow requirements. - Performs training internally to Staples resources, vendors such as service providers as well as MPS customers. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Associate or Technical Degree (IT or Engineering) - 4 to 6 years of related experience - High degree of technical aptitude - 3-5 years of IT/Technical experience in a TCP/IP network environment - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc.) - 3-5 years of experience in the output management industry / digital imaging industry / workflow software industry - Problem solving and analytical skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred: - Java, JavaScript or similar programming background a plus for configuring embedded applications. - Break/Fix experience a plus Job: Print Solutions Location(s): US-FL-Deerfield Beach Schedule: Full-time Job Level: Non-Manager Shift: Day Job Job Type: Experienced Employment Statement Staples is an Equal Opportunity Employer who values the diversity of our people, products, and services.
