We are currently looking for experienced MRB/Liaison Engineers to join our team. This role has the delegated engineering authority to develop and approve dispositions for non conforming product within the Material Review Board process. The Liaison Engineer will work as part of the Fishermans Bend Operations team, with reporting responsibility to the Engineering Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities:

Personally develop a high level of expertise in Liaison Engineering and its application to aircraft component manufacturing;

Integrate the role with operations support and management to ensure timely and sound engineering decisions to support production schedules and ensure product compliance to type design.

Provision of effective and timely advice as requested from managers. production and engineering personnel;

Support the successful management of the production value stream to ensure continuous product flow and to meet schedule and quality targets.
Major tasks include:

Investigate production nonconformances and develop engineering dispositions, exercising engineering MRB delegation to approve dispositions for incorporation by production.

Develop corrective action plans for repeat nonconformances requiring design change or engineering action.
Key requirements:

Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering are essential; specialising in Aerospace, Structures, or Mechanical Engineering will be highly regarded.

Sufficient knowledge and experience of other related aerospace engineering disciplines to allow their integration within a production activity and to work closely with design engineering.

Aerospace structures design experience or experience working closely with engineering design department is highly desirable.

Relevant experience in production liaison engineering in Aerospace manufacturing. Exceptional candidates with Aerospace maintenance liaison engineering experience or manufacturing liaison engineering experience in closely related industries may be considered.

Knowledge of materials processes, parts and analysis methods pertaining to Aerospace applications.

Current or recent full engineering MRB delegation is desirable.

Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles and practices is highly desirable.
Classification Level:
This position is classified as Engineer/Scientist 1 or 2. The classification and level will be dependent on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be required to complete a 3 month probationary period.
