MRI Applications Support Specialist
- Designing, communicating and executing image acquisition plans (subjects, phantoms) for clinical trial projects
- Provides training on protocol, phantoms, operational processes, and image acquisition to client, client sites and/or internal teams
- Serving as primary point of contact for equipment and image acquisition questions
- Participates in CNS and complex imaging initiatives
- Participating in research efforts directed toward the evaluation of new imaging technologies
- Assisting in the writing of User Requirements Specification documents for new image processing tools
- Participating in User Acceptance Testing of new products to be used by the Core Lab
- Maintaining sound knowledge of protocol specifications
- Performing analysis on image data including quantitation tasks such as volume and area measurements
- Reviewing and analyzing image data for clarity and quality
- Verifying image data is in compliance with project protocol requirements
- Troubleshooting of received DICOM image files and liaising with sites for resolution
- Reviewing evaluations of potential clinical research sites and verifying the accuracy of information pertaining to site personnel, medical imaging equipment, imaging protocol and data archival capabilities
- Providing support for technical imaging related issues
- Assisting in the design and implementation of data transmittal forms
- Assisting in writing and reviewing imaging guidelines/manualsAssisting in writing and reviewing Site Surveys
Candidates should have:
- Experience in providing technical support for biomedical instrumentation, imaging and networked systems
- Knowledge of biomedical engineering technology and its application to biomedical instrumentation
- Knowledge of ditigal imaging systems, picture archival communication systems (PACS), and computer networks and their application for the integration of patient data into record systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical engineering or related field; preferably with emphasis on medical imaging
- Supervisory and/or project management training preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in either CT/MR advanced visualization and (or) PACS administration
- Extensive working knowledge of CT and MRI imaging datasets
- Advanced image processing experience including segmentation, registration, DICOM protocol
- Experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting of MRI medical equipment
- Complex computer skills
- Experience working with computer software including Word, Excel and Access preferred
- Experience working with clinical trials and/or within pharmaceutical environment preferred
