MS Systems Engineer Job in Philadelphia 19107, Pennsylvania US

The Judge Group has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer for a 6+ month contract in Center City Philadelphia.  Please apply if you are qualified and you will be contacted directly.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Implement Microsoft Windows Server software including new releases and periodic maintenance.

·         Customize Microsoft Windows Sewer software to meet SEPTA’s specific Client-server computing needs, including web servers, FTP sites, domains, dusters and Meta frame implementations.

·         Develop and administer information security practices for the protection of Authority data within the Windows Server environment using knowledge of Active Directory, Novell Directory Services and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol

·         Implement the placement of all production Windows Server applications to maximize utilization of processor and storage resources. Ensure that appropriate licenses are In place.

·         Develop and maintain Microsoft Windows Server networking capabilities using TCPIIP and LAN/WAN routing systems.

·         Facilitate the change control process for systems and applications to ensure the accuracy and completeness of Windows Server based systems.

·         Instruct Computer Operations, Project Services and technical support personnel in the use of Windows Server systems and utilities.

·         Monitor system performance and capacity through the use of both proprietary and in-house software to meet service level commitments for efficiency and stability.

·         Provide recommendations and technical specifications for Windows Server hardware and software to meet the growing needs of the Authority.

·         Resolve problems in Microsoft Windows Server environments. This includes, but is not limited to, interfacing with vendor hot-line or on-site support personnel.

·         Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of existing Microsoft Windows operating system software and operational techniques through on-the-job training, review of technical publications, and technical seminars/webinars,

·         Perform other duties as assigned/required, including “on-call” coverage and response to service implementation or restoration issues.

 

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree in computer Science, Engineering or related field plus five years of file server support administration experience required.

·         Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills

·         Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
