POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated, and service oriented individual to lead our sales initiative focused on selling multi-asset class risk management products to Asia Pacific Pension Plans, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and other types of institutional clients (“Asset Owners”). The role is based in Hong Kong or Singapore.

MSCI Inc. Sales Specialists are responsible for maintaining existing client relationships as well as new business development for all MSCI Inc. products. Each person travels within their respective sales territory to meet with clients regarding new products as well as enhancements to existing products.

The role entails positioning and closing sales of quantitative investment decision support tools with our current Asset Owner clients as well as our prospective clients. Sales Specialists use their knowledge of the investment management process, modern portfolio theory, and data model distribution platforms (Bloomberg, Factset, Thompson, etc.) to identify risk management solutions using MSCI Inc. tools for their Asset Owner clients and prospects.

This role is a highly visible one, with involvement in all aspects of an account including senior level relationship management, product demonstrations, contract negotiation, sales closing, product setup and delivery. In this role, individuals will work very closely with global Client Service, Client Consultants, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance / billing departments.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Superior communication and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects

• Strong sales closing skills and proven record for exceeding sales targets

• Strong analytic and quantitative skills

• Understanding of / experience dealing with major international Asset Owners and other client types (e.g. Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Broker / Dealers, and Investment Consultants)

• Strong understanding of the global equity and fixed income markets as well as the investment process

• A self starter and highly motivated; ability to work individually and within a global team

• Thorough understanding of the Investment Management Process

• Minimum of 6-10 years sales experience with a proven record of accomplishment. 5-10 years of experience in the financial service industry

• Someone who enjoys intellectual and analytical challenges

• Bachelor’s Degree Required; MBA, Masters Degree and/or CFA charter holder preferred

• Extensive travel to client sites.

• Fluency in written and spoken English is a must. Fluency in spoken Mandarin is required and a good command in written Mandarin is highly desirable.
