In 2009, strategic decisions were made to streamline the focus of the organization, positioning the Asset Management Division to be a leader in institutional asset management globally, thereby returning the organization to its partnership-oriented, fundamentally investment-driven institutional origins. A new leadership team is being assembled and empowered by Morgan Stanley’s Chief Executive Officer, James Gorman, to take MSIM’s business to the next level.
Rationale for Role:
As part of the business’s re-positioning, MSIM has recently re-launched its Liquidity Sales business and is building a team to be based in London to cover the EMEA region. MSIM has recently hired two senior External Salespeople and is now looking to add to the team. The successful applicant will cover Continental Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with Head of Liquidity Sales to define, prioritise and target identified client segments with MSIM’s liquidity funds – with responsibility for executing on such sales campaigns
• Contribute towards development and delivery of long term strategy for the successful growth of MSIM’s liquidity sales business in Continental Europe
• Identify, prioritise and target existing and new business opportunities
• Successfully sell MSIM’s liquidity funds to a wide range of institutional clients including hedge funds, corporations and insurance companies
• Pro-actively develop “cross divisional” relationships within MS (e.g. FID, IED, IBD) to fully leverage the Firm’s institutional client base in order to maximise business opportunities
• Work actively and collaboratively with Portfolio Management, Legal, Operations, Product Development, Marketing and Compliance during the sales process Skills Required • Good academic credentials
• A strong, demonstrable track record in sales with institutional clients
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent interpersonal skills to be applied both internally and externally, and both verbal and written
