Specific Job Description IAMAW HOURLY REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES WHO CURRENTLY WORK AT THE MAIN (SUNNYVALE/PALO ALTO) UNIT, SANTA CRUZ, VANDENBERG OR EASTERN RANGE FACILITIES CAN NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION THROUGH THE ON-LINE CAREER NETWORK SYSTEM. IF YOU ARE A CURRENT HOURLY EMPLOYEE AND YOU WANT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST SUBMIT A VALID WRITTEN REQUEST TO LABOR RELATIONS. THIS PROCEDURE IS OUTLINED IN THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT. (FOR SUNNYVALE AND PALO ALTO EMPLOYEES A PLACEMENT REQUEST CARD NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED). COPIES OF THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE UNION HALL OR FROM LABOR RELATIONS. Set up test equipment and environmental generators and perform all operations required for research, development and production test of missile hardware and special projects utilizing all types of electrical/electronic test equipment, computer control/data acquisition equipment and environmental generators. Determine sequence of operations and necessary equipment required to perform functional tests of missile hardware under environmental conditions in order to evaluate hardware and materials. Coordinate activities with cognizant engineers and other shop personnel. Independently setup, checkout, troubleshoot and operate equipment required to test hardware such as flight electronics equipment; mechanical structures, fluid systems and materials; instrumentation; and environment generating control and data acquisition. Independently use all manual and computer controlled equipment, evaluate data and make note of anomolies for engineering evaluation. Fabricate, troubleshoot, repair and checkout test equipment working from sketches, oral engineering instructions, drawings, test procedures and shop practice.
