Specific Job Description *This position is contingent upon contract award.* The customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. To achieve this, DISA is seeking reliable, cost effective solutions to acquire Operations and Maintenance (OM) for the CONUS and OCONUS network and provide the support necessary to carry out the day-to-day operations and sustainment of GIG networks and related services. The core telecommunications capabilities supported by GSM-O enable the Warfighter to meet operational needs by providing world-wide telecommunications, supporting natural disaster relief, and conducting humanitarian assistance in peace time crises, regional conflicts, and at the same time executing on-going strategic deterrence activities. This position is responsible for rengineering management information systems. Recognizing and recommending new or emerging technology or software to satisfy functional requirements and processes. Organizing and directing the configuration and operation of information management systems. Analyzing computer engineering data processing requirements to plan systems to provide system capabilities required for projected workloads. Developing applications that take advantage of Internet protocols and platforms. Integrates the following network infrastructure. This position directs the support to Network Operations Centers and Operational Support Systems (OSS) within DISA-provided GIG services networking sites including Global NetOps Support Center (GNSC) and Theater NetOps Center (TNC). Support will be provided on a continuing 24x7 basis, that assures the availability of the suite of applications, servers, and network devices that make up the OSS including LAN applications operations and Administration, maintenance and security functions (to include Order Entry Systems). Responsible for overseeing Server/Application Operational Support by providing administration and maintenance of servers/applications, operator workstations, communications equipment and other related equipment used in performing network operations. Responsible for Operational LAN Support to including managing the LAN operations and infrastructure including LAN physical and logical interfaces, LAN upgrades, extensions and reconfiguration and LAN security compliance. Responsible to ensure hardware and applications are operationally deployed and maintained; ensure operations of electronic network management connections interface with Web Services (WS) which includes trouble tickets, inventory data, configuration data, performance data, service quality data, and service order status. Oversee administration and support network security infrastructure. Responsible for Operational DCN Support to include the LAN and WAN components of infrastructure monitoring and management, requirements analysis, installation support, logistics support, etc. Experience with Network Operation Centers (NOC) LAN's and 24x7 operations.
