Role Responsibilities

• Be  a key member of the Investment team who leads the risk management and hedging input into the Group Investment decision making process and be responsible for running key investment portfolios

• Devise Strategic Asset Allocations (SAA), which are proposed to the Investment Management Executive by the CIO. The work on SAA and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) will require strong knowledge of the global economy, the factors which influence its direction and that of the investment markets

• Thoroughly understand the current risk levels and contributions to risk for each client so that their investment objectives, risk appetite and regulatory requirements are adhered to. 

• Develop risk management/hedging solutions for each client.

• Carry out scenario analysis and stress testing of the portfolios as part of the regulatory risk framework

• Provide a leading role in the Strategic/Tactical Asset Allocation (SAA/TAA) debate in terms of: the signals being given by quantitative indicators and the implications for risk of SAA/TAA decisions

• Make investment decisions to implement the TAA

• Contribute to the on-going development of the investment process

Background Experience

• The successful candidate will have a proven background within the investment management arena with exposure to a range of asset classes including government bonds, corporate bonds, structured securities, equities, property funds, absolute return funds and cash

• A demonstrable track record in managing/running multi-asset portfolios

• An excellent understanding of portfolio construction, risk attribution and performance measurement

• Graduate (preferably Maths, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Financial Economics)

• CFA charterholder or CFA candidate desirable
