A vacancy has arisen for an Engineering Technician at Lockerbie Dairy. You will work within a maintenance team consisting of 11 people (1 Manager, 1 Team Leader, and 9 shift engineers) This multi skilled engineer role is not only about running and maintaining equipment (although a significant part of the role), but in developing continuous improvement teams and leading/facilitating these through a number of lean manufacturing areas to deliver improvements across the Dairy. This will include the delivery of planned/predictive engineering maintenance across all production lines process areas, continuous improvement facilitation of cross-functional teams, using a combination of tools techniques such as TPM, RCM, FMEA, 5'S and Kaizen events etc and identification and implementation of improvement ideas to achieve world-class standards relating to OEE, quality and HS measurements across the facility.
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment as a Multi Skilled Engineer is essential along with experience or demonstrable appreciation of FMCG (desirable) engineering/maintenance.
* Qualified to ONC or equivalent in manufacturing/operations areas
* Previous experience in dairy or food operations desirable
* Automation/PLC and Siemens control systems
* Health Safety Environment legal and regulatory requirements
* General IT skills
* Understanding of HACCP, COSHH, Quality Assurance and Lean Manufacture
* Effective communication skills and effective reporting across all levels
* Logical problem solving
* Ability to work in a team and individually
This role will specifically cover a continental shift pattern and your shift team will consist of 2 multi skilled engineers.
