We have an immediate opening for a System Administrator in our Louisville, CO office to support our Data Service business. The main responsibility of the Systems Administrator is to work as part of the Data Services team in the implementation of Vaisala data services and software products.
You will primarily be working on Linux platforms that use a variety of communication mediums. This will range from several hundred remote weather stations running the full compliment of Vaisala sensors, to large scale servers using cutting edge technology in our data centers.
You will be required to listen, understand and search for solutions to problems as part of a dedicated service team. This position will require significant verbal and written communication internally with the business areas as well as externally with our extensive and diverse customer base.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in computer science or related subject
- 5+ years of proven experience maintaining Linux servers, preferably RedHat/CentOS.
- RHCE or equivalent certification is a plus
- Excellent grounding in networking concepts and tools
- Good understanding of security - IPTables, IDS/IPS systems, SSH etc
- Good scripting skills using the shell, Perl, Python PHP and other scripting languages
- SQL Database experience is an advantage
- Familiarity with Cisco and other network and routing devices
- Good skills in all Microsoft Office Applications
- An excellent telephone manner and customer relation skills
