National Account Manager – Index Sales Specialist recruitment

Business Overview:

MSCI is a leading index provider for exchange traded funds (ETFs) with more than USD350B globally. The US ETF market is approximately USD1 trillion in assets with 25% annualized growth over the last 5 years. While the market may seem large, it pales in comparison to the USD12 trillion US mutual fund industry. Moreover, there is room for growth as it’s estimated that only 6% of financial advisor assets are allocated to ETFs. MSCI is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial individual to build and grow relationships with professionals at the home offices of brokers and RIAs. The goals will be to build awareness of the MSCI brand, win benchmarks, sell data and increase MSCI’s share of wallet.

Responsibilities:
• Client facing role developing relationships with professionals at home offices of brokers, RIAs and private banks. Specific clients will include: CIOs, portfolio managers, research and due diligence groups.
• Candidate should be solutions oriented and have a strong understanding of indices and/or ETFs.
• Both warm and cold calls will be required for lead identification, follow-up activity, client profiling, setting up meetings and delivering presentations.
• Track benchmark wins, fund changes and assets within target client base.
• Collaborate with MSCI research teams to meet client needs and win business.
• Coordinate and structure presentation materials for client meetings and marketing campaigns. Duties will include creating presentation materials, fact sheets, etc. and then communicating with clients in person, email, conference calls, webinars, etc.
• Manage day-to-day operational duties such as maintaining target client lists, benchmark/fund wins/losses, entering notes in Salesforce.com, etc.
• Significant travel will be required

Qualifications:
• Experience building and cultivating relationships with home offices of brokerage and/or RIAs.
• Strong knowledge of the investment process and ETFs with particular attention to the global equity markets.
• A strategic and collaborative, client centric mindset
• Exceptional communicator – both verbally and written
• A team player focused on the group performance rather than the individual
• Desired background: sales or product management
• MBA/CFA is strongly preferred
