NBFI Lending Manager / Credit Relationship Manager
The business has an established credit lending business in the US, and is looking to strengthen this capability in Europe. They have a nascent platform in London and they are looking to make a senior level hire to help develop and manage a commercial loan portfolio, focused on the investment funds sector, with clients including Private Equity funds and other alternative investment funds such as hedge funds, funds of funds, etc.).
The position is a full-service credit role which requires the ability to originate and execute transactions. Therefore, industry knowledge and experience in credit structuring, risk management and relationship management is key, with a network in the Financial Sponsors market a real advantage. The incumbent will work collaboratively with a small European lending team to deliver credit solutions to targeted customers and prospects. They will be supported by a team of commercial lending and operations professionals based in the US.
Responsibilities
- Call on potential and existing customers to identify and develop new business opportunities and ensure client retention.
- Structure, negotiate and manage credit arrangements for new business and renewals of existing credits for assigned relationships.
- Provide effective portfolio oversight and management reporting.
- Assist in developing new credit products and solutions for clients.
- Provide financial advice and counsel to key clients.
Requirements
- Demonstrable expertise in credit markets, commercial loan structuring, risk assessment, and legal documentation. A proven track record of commercial lending experience and investment management industry (NBFI) experience, preferably in an European institutional commercial lending organisation.
- Strong credit analysis and underwriting skills, with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to develop business relationships within and outside of the organisation.
- Strong negotiation skills.
