Job Role

The Product Manager’s role within Micro-P is to ensure the performance and growth of NEC AV against agreed targets through Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Vendor and customer focus.  The role requires a full understanding of the defined market – it’s size, expectations and growth opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

High Performing Activities: 

 

        · Achieve and exceed agreed GP and commercial KPI targets for NEC. These will include stock holding / aged stock / rebate / addback.
· In conjunction with chosen vendors set out a business plan which jointly achieves Micro-P’s and the vendors expectation on business levels.To include all marketing and promotions.
· Working with all sales divisions to ensure each market area is performing inline with budget expectations. Example: · Retail / Etail / Majors / Core / Web.
· Note: Planning, execution and measurement should be agreed with sales management.
· Understand and implement the margin expectations for each of these areas.
Ensure (with specialist if relevant) that activities are in place and executed to achieve both operational and tactical · requirements for the business unit.
· Ensure that the product specialist (if relevant) has all relevant information regarding product / price and promotional activity to maximise GP.
· Develop and maintain relationships with key stake holders within theNEC to leverage opportunity.This should be at all levels – end user team; reseller team; product management; distribution account manager and management.
· Develop and maintain relationships with the top 20 reseller accounts for NEC to leverage opportunity. This is to include regular direct visits.
· Understand NEC market conditions to maximise opportunities – to include: size, shares and trends.
· Manage the bids offered by NEC. Ensure that these are continually followed up by the relevant sales person and brought to closure.
 

Organisational Activities

 

§          Review daily GP and margin performance.

§          Review performance with stake holders within the business to ensure objectives are achieved. Key areas: Retail / Etail / Majors / Core / Web.

§          Review trading account base for NEC to ensure growth and breadth.

§          Review performance against rebate targets and implement any necessary actions in order to maximise opportunity.

§          Review stock levels with purchasing to ensure the correct inventory (stock fill) is available against demand.

§          Identify and action correct use of existing inventory to maximise GP and commercial KPI performance.

§          Identify and action activity to manage aged inventory to meet KPI’s.

§          Ensure all products are visible and up to date on internal price lists, customer feeds and Micro P web site.

§          Prepare and deliver monthly overviews for the business unit  to the relevant sales teams; good communication is essential.  Sales should be fully awareof the key objectives for both Micro-P and NEC

 

 

Ideal experience:

 

§       Minimum 3 years experience working within distribution/AV industry andinvolved with commercial or sales teams.

§       Able to demonstrate real success and delivery from self-made opportunities.
