SCOPE OF JOB:
The Negotiation Specialist will be responsible for reducing delinquency by partnering with homeowners through the effective use of select foreclosure alternatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· The specialist will be responsible for adequate coverage and resolution rates on their assigned loss mitigation portfolio
· Conduct initial financial reviews with homeowners who are seeking assistance and facilitate the procurement of documents necessary to underwrite loss mitigation workouts such that are either borrower or collateral based
· Experience in foreclosure and bankruptcy are a plus
· The specialist will supply updates to homeowners regarding their pending modifications, deeds in lieu, short sales, and other workouts, on all lien positions
· Responsible for achieving all applicable individual and departmental performance measurements as assigned by management
· Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere where support of other team members is critical to the department’s success
· Identify potential issues and escalate to management in a timely fashion
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Strong customer service skills
· Ability to communicate and work with management
· 2+ years in a collections environment
· Mortgage industry a plus, but not required
· Computer skills; MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Fiserv a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Experience in Foreclosure and Bankruptcy are a plus
· Loss Mitigation Experience is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects and for operating office equipment (i.e., computers, fax machines, copiers, etc.)
