Overall Purpose of Role:

The Network Engineer reports to the Manager of Network Operations and is responsible for designing, building, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. This role is an integral role in the Company’s strategic direction, development, and growth.

Candidates will need to be based in Dublin for a large portion of the contract. Please only apply if temporary relocation is possible.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

* Design and implement network infrastructure enhancements and solutions

* Continually strive to guarantee 100% network uptime, 24/7

* Work on best practices for network monitoring, security improvements, uptime, change control, etc. Own and manage network problems and incidents to ensure problem resolution within agreed service levels

* Perform operational tasks such as implementing firewall policies and assigning vlans to switch ports

* Troubleshoot typical network problems associated with the desktop environment and voice systems.

* Work with Data Centre staff to implement cabling solutions in Data Centre and communications rooms

Skills/Experience Required:

* 4+ years of Networking experience with a variety of hardware and software disciplines

* Strong TCP/IP-based LAN and WAN architecture, design and management.

* Expert Knowledge of Cisco PIX, Routers and Switches

* Strong Knowledge of TCP/IP-based LAN and WAN architecture, design and management

* Strong Knowledge of Internet Security

* Broad understanding of all components of IT in the current marketplace, including workstations and servers, operating systems and software applications and data communications hardware and software

* Knowledge of the Microsoft development environment

* Knowledge of Linux development environment

* Exposure to internet based solutions; dealing with real time customer issues and management of 24/7 client support issues.

* Fundamental knowledge of Domain Name Registration process and DNS

* Experience of Data Centre network infrastructure (Design and Implementation) i.e. Structured Cabling, Distribution Frames and Telco Rooms

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

* Must be detail oriented and organised

* Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills

* Candidate should obtain or hold Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

* Experience administering Juniper Netscreen Firewalls and VPNs

The following, while not essential, are highly desirable:

* RSA SecurID

* Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unified Contact Center Express (UCCx), and Cisco Unity desirable
