Overview:

This position will be responsible for design and development activities associated with Thomson Reuters Wealth Management initiatives. Projects include; new product or strategic offerings, enhancements to existing revenue producing products, maintenance of existing products, integration efforts targeting Thomson Reuter's products or third party applications/services, and mentoring junior level engineers. This position will work closely with internal groups and other Wealth Management teams.

Responsibilities:

This role will receive direction from the Team Lead and have latitude on how to perform the task.
Responsibilities include; application design, performing coding assignments, unit testing, ensuring development standards are being followed, analyzing functional specifications to assess technical approach, producing technical specifications and documents, developing unit test scripts, participating in team code reviews, estimates and impact assessments.
Other activities to include Production support, defect and root cause analysis, technical documentation and interaction with internal teams (including Product Mgmt, Quality Assurance, Service Desk, Project Mgmt)

Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience: Minimum five (5) years experience developing software in a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environment and to include;
• 5 years experience using C#, ASP.Net, .Net framework 2.0/3.0/3.5 and XML
• 5 years experience using Object Oriented Design and programming (OOD), Multi-tier application architectures, web development, analysis and design
• 2 years experience using Microsoft Silverlight
• 5 years experience developing software using Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2003/2005/2008/2010
• 2 years experience with WPF (Windows Presenttaion Foundation)
• 1 to 2 years expereince with WCF/Web services (Windows Communication Foundation)

Desired Skills:

Nice to have Experience with Enterprise tools to support SDLC processes, Performance engineering or Release Enginering.
Microsoft Expresssion Blend (1 year), MVVM design (1 year)
Desired skills include; Strong verbal, organizational and documentation background. Team based collaborative attitude.

Education/ Certifications:

• Microsoft certifications: MCAD (Microsoft Certified Application Developer) and/or MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer) - preferred but not required
