Job description As a Client Technical Specialist, you are IBM's technical consultant to our clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. You will learn the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape and apply industry-specific knowledge and experience to bring new business and technology insights to your assigned clients. You will be responsible for providing technical sales support, which may include: collaborating with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions; delivering Proof of Concept; developing and delivering technical education; supporting critical situations; designing solutions; and answering technical questions. When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, you will also be responsible for the technical accuracy of your proposed solution. Further Responsibilities include: Work with Sales team to provide technical sales support in sales/product presentations, product positioning and product demonstrations. Additional Requirements Field experience in at least one major industry Knowledge of competitive offerings in the DW space such as Exadata, Teradata, HP, EMC/Greenplum and others Competent in engaging, negotiating, discussing, and presenting with C-level Executives Experience with a formal sales process Strong communication and leadership skills Preferred Knowledge of different architectural approaches to warehousing including hardware and software elements is a plus An understanding of ETL and data integration methodology for consolidating data into the data warehouse is a plus An understanding of market offerings around Data Mining, In-Line Analytics, dashboards/scorecards, and Operational BI is a plus Required At least 3 years experience in Database / data warehousing Readiness to travel 50% travel annually English: Fluent Preferred Bachelor's Degree At least 5 years experience in Database / data warehousing At least 3 years experience in 3 years in Government OR Telecommunications OR Banking OR Financial Markets OR Electronics OR Life Sciences At least 3 years experience in Technical Presales Additional information Candidates should have excellent customer relations, verbal, and written communications skills. Ability to successfully close business deals. Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously. Ability to learn Company's line of products and services. Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
