Position Sr. Network Administrator Wireless, Cisco
Job Order: 3019
Position Type: Contract
Duration: 9 months with possible extension
Location: KWA, Southwestern ON
Job Overview:
Beyond technical responsibilities we are looking for someone that is an eager and independent learner, willing to take on new challenges and grow both technically and personally. Primary responsibility is wireless administration and upgrade which will consume approximately one third to half of time.
Requirements:
- 802.11 wireless platforms
- Wireless trouble-shooting tools (i.e. Site survey tools)
- Implementing redundant wireless technologies
- Secondary responsibility is network administration.
Knowledge and experience preferred with:
- Cisco and Nortel wireless platforms
- Cisco and Nortel switches and routers
- Cisco VSS and Nortel SMLT
- Professionalism: an individual who is serious about what they do and willing to take the time to achieve a deep understanding of their craft.
- Always professional in talk and manner.
- Customer First Attitude: understanding who are customer is and how to best serve them
- Project Management: some experience managing projects (individually or teams) and a familiarity with our PMO process would be an asset.
- Good listening and verbal communications
- Effectiveness and enthusiasm: wanting to make a contribution ("can do" attitude)
- After-hours and weekend support and work is required with this position
Must have:
- Excellent trouble-shooting
- Ability to create and manage clear and concise documentation for existing systems
Nice to have:
- Monitoring via BMC products
- Microsoft Windows
- ITIL processes
