Network Architect / Manager Job in Nashville 37214, Tennessee US

Description of Role/Responsibilities:

This Network Architect role is with a Fortune 500 organization to offers the chance to a highly skilled IT professional that can practically apply both business and technical insights into designing enterprise, global WAN as well as determine overall network health, compare with industry standards, and establish operating thresholds, alert and countermeasure when thresholds are exceeded.  This person  will be responsible for gathering business requirements and objectives, producing a global, enterprise network strategy and roadmap blueprint for a complex, global, integrated network as well as clearly communicating the architecture to third party vendor and all stake holders.  This person also needs to be able to identify and justify necessary business investments and sourcing needed to support the deployment, maintenance and operation of the network and improve performance while reducing variation and cost.  Relocation assistance would be available for this position and the option to do contract to hire is also available.  This is a resume boosting role that give this individual the chance to have total oversight over a global network with over 2000 different locations. 

Required Skills:

Minimum of 10 years experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing global enterprise networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors including Cisco

Five or more years focused in network design with heavy emphasis on WAN and technical project management

Experience designing and managing MPLS framework

Must have strong leadership skills and flexibility when handling change

Demonstrated knowledge of network technologies and trends

Experience managing networks in an outsourced environment and strong experience knowing how to escalate issues within large outsourced network providers

Ability to work within and across large, global teams

Willingness to mentor other IT colleagues

Excellent written and verbal skills

 

Desired Skills:

Any of the following certifications are a plus:  Cisco CCNP,CCNA Security, CCDE, CCIE

Experience with VOIP design and engineering a plus

4 year college degree a plus
