JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Technical Lead, Network Architect will interface regularly with other Network and System administrators and lead the installation, monitoring and support of network, security, Internet technologies and remote office WAN/LAN connectivity.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Design, monitor, troubleshoot, and configuration of firewalls, VPN and security appliances, and Web servers

·        Design, monitor, troubleshoot, and configuration of Firewalls, VPN and security appliances, and Web servers

o   Microsoft Exchange 2007

o   Cisco and HP switches and routers

o   Fiber switches and ISCSI network

o   Fiber and ISCSI SANs to include data replication

o   Telecommunication appliances and servers

·        Responsible for the security configuration of  web servers and applications

·        Translate business requirements into network design

·        Recommend standard network hardware, systems management software, and operating systems for all network elements

·        Evaluate and recommend new products, maintain knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise

·        Lead peer-reviews/whiteboard sessions to ensure that network standards are being followed and to gather additional details required for new network standards to be developed

·        Provide proactive review and recommendation for improvements to network environment

·        Evaluate network performance, develop a roadmap and capacity to ensure that the business needs are met

·        Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture

·        Ensure the completed infrastructure meets standard configuration, performance and availability requirements, including matching to the Enterprise and Strategic architectures.

·        Ensure compliance with all IT and application standards, including all relevant regulatory corporate compliance (PCI, SOX, HIPPA, GLBA, etc.)

·        Develop applicable policies, procedures, standards and guidelines

·        Plan health/security checks and upgrade of network equipment and storage

·        Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS 

·        Degree in computer science or equivalent experience; at least 2 years’ experience supporting internet technologies

·        5+ years overall network administration experience

·        Knowledge of Microsoft server products including network operating systems

·        Working knowledge of in the following areas: Unified Communications, Network Management, or Security

·        Knowledge of switches, routers, hubs and TCP/IP

·        Strong communications skills with some experience in customer interface

·        Able to climb, crawl and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

·        Able to work night and weekend hours as required

 

Also helpful:

·        Hands-on configuration of Compaq Proliant servers, StorageWorks SAN, Cisco networks

·        Certifications related to the environment
