Hours: Days – Monday to Friday
About the Position:
The objective is to identify (both hardware and software) and resolve technical issues by working closely with both partners/customers and Juniper’s escalation and engineering group.
Desired Skills and/or Experience:
Industry experience working in a Customer Support role. Experience in working in Network Operations Centers.
- Knowledge in IP service, Access Control, TCP/IP, networking concepts preferred.
- TCP/IP protocol knowledge, routing protocol experience and strong transferable skills in other networking disciplines.
- Understanding or knowledge in the following routing protocols: IPSec, OSPF, BGP, multicast, PPP, PPPoE, L2TP, LDP, RSVP.
- JNCIA or JNCIS or JNCIP or JNCIE is a big plus
- CCNP or CCIE is a plus
Job Title and Responsibilities: Tier 2/Level 2 Network Support
1. Revisit/Review all data collected
a. Review Case History
b. Review all technical data
2. Determine if enough data had been obtained and fill the gaps
a. Collect advanced debug data
b. Collect sniffer traces
c. Collect snoop data
d. Log into the customers box to do live troubleshooting and see the problem first hand
3. Research the Knowledge Base and release notes to see if this is a known issue
4. Attempt to reproduce the issue in your lab with the OS version your customer is using and also the latest version
5. Complete the JNASC JTAC Escalation Template
