Network Consulting Engineer

Consulting and Delivery Engineering within the Operations and Network Management (ONM) space. Consult customers about People, Processes and Tools and deliver Cisco operations tools within this context. Target customer base is the Service Provider (or Telco) area. Understanding of the difference between framework products and point products is imperative, experience how to map operational processes or business models into framework products is a must, experience with products from the following list is required:
- Cisco Info Center (a.k.a. IBM Tivoli Netcool family)
- Cisco Active Network Abstraction (ANA)
- InfoVista product family
- Cisco IP Solutions Center
Experience in Architecture and Integration are appreciated in order to help supporting customer to built effective Operations and Network Management capabilities managing our and potentially third party networks.

Skills required
=========
* In-depth knowledge of network management operations
* Knowledge of Cisco network management products from a broad perspective with a deep understanding of one or more specific network management products
* Good Understanding of network operational models such as NGOSS/eTOM, ITIL, and FCAPS
* Good knowledge of service assurance (fault performance), provisioning, device and service control
* Large-scale NMS/OSS design skills
* Experience in development, integration or support of Operations and Network Management tools and processes .
* Deep understanding of protocols employed in management of IP networks such as SNMP, Syslog, Telnet/SSH, XML, HTTP and NTP
* Strong understanding of IP internetworking, routing protocols, LAN Switching, WAN protocols, and MPLS/VPN
* Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network NMS/OSS environments
* Expert in systems such as Solaris, Linux, Microsoft OS and complex application administration skills
* Skills in script development experience with one or more of Perl, Tcl, JavaScript, Sed, Awk and Unix Shel l
* Understanding of network application development environments such as C, C++, Java or Ada and particularly an understanding of object oriented development
* Ability to manage delivery of multiple complex projects ranging from system/solution integration to resolution of technical issues and operations process design
* Possess strong technical account management skills in Advanced Services or high-level support
* Apply lifecycle services structured methodology – Knowledge of Cisco's Advanced Services Program delivery model
* Possess BS, CS, or University degree equivalent and/or minimum of 8 years experience in NMS/OSS engineering or an operations support environment
