Network Engineer

The Company

Robert Half Technology are working closely with this international recruitment and business consultancy operating in 25+ countries with a turnover of ~$3.8Billion. The organisation are a Fortune 500 business with approximately 1,700 users, an IT organisation of 350-400 globally, a UK team of 45 IT staff, are keen to identify a talented Network Engineer for this growing engineering function in the EMEA region.

The Role

Robert Half Technology is seeking a high-calibre Network Engineer for a leading international business services group in Birmingham. Situated in the UK headquarters, the newly created post will join a global team of ~20 strong Network Engineering across the UK, EMEA, Asia Pacific both North and South America. The purpose of the role is to provide network engineering and support and monitoring of the Robert Half International Network throughout the EMEA region. It is to ensure focus is maintained on the critical WAN and LAN infrastructure at the firm is up and running in accordance to KPIs and SLAs. This will be linked to fault finding and rectification as well as providing recommendations to improve the efficiency of the network.

The role will also incorporate a level of project work and covering multiple disciplines including VOIP technologies, Remote Access devices routers, firewalls, core switching and various other technologies.Key responsibilities for this role include:
·Support and maintenance of the EMEA WAN and LAN networks.
·Support and maintenance of the VOIP telephony systems and TelePresence systems.
·Provide relevant feedback and recommendations on improving the Network.
·Assist in project work covering any area of the network including office moves and data centre activities.
·Provide input into strategy making decisions on new technology and tools.
·Handle, monitor and if necessary resolve escalated issues that impact critically on services.
·Maintain documentation and drawings on all projects, new services, tools or technology.
·Ensure knowledge of new concepts, technologies or tools is kept up to date.
·Documentation of new processes and procedures where necessary and adhere to change control process.
·Will be required to travel to remote sites across the EMEA region to complete work as requested, this may involve overnight stays.
·Maintain confidentiality on all management issues.
·Relationship management with peers, management team, extended colleagues and suppliers.

The role will report to the Network Engineering Manager, and this team focus on implementation of project work from concept to design through implementation, assigning appropriate resources to run specific work streams in line with global standards. The Network Engineering team will also work closely with the Network Services Team to assist with day to day maintenance and support of all systems in the EMEA region although the primary focus is project based. The Network Engineering team will be responsible for the LAN and WAN networks including installation, troubleshooting, problems, resolution, and routine maintenance.The successful candidate will be experienced in providing a high level network engineering and support preferably within a multinational environment with the ability to pick up and adapt to new technologies quickly. The Network Engineer should be qualified to a minimum of CCNA level. It is essential the Network Engineer is professionally certified, or has excellent equivalent and relevant experience in corporate data and voice management gained within a commercial environment. European language skills would be beneficial due to the coverage of the position. The role will require some international travel, and for the successful Network Engineer to be part of a shift rota for a 24 hour callout. The candidate will be a motivated team player willing to contribute to the success of the team and the division as a whole with good customer facing skills and a service orientated work ethic. Strong communications skills, and good interpersonal skills are critical.

Salary Benefits

£27,500 - £40,000/Annum + Car Allowance Bonus
