Network Engineer – Information Systems recruitment

The Role

Bloomberg's internal IT department is looking for an experienced network (LAN) operations specialist for our London team. You will be working with the global Information Systems group to provide support for our internal customers globally with a primary focus on the EMEA region.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: all day to day network management, break-fix support of our internal network estate, enforcing end point security technologies, report generation for fault management, IP management etc. Additionally, opportunities for project work may be presented.

Expectations and Qualifications

Essential :
- Excellent understanding of networking principles and technologies in an enterprise level multi-site environment.
- Strong IP troubleshooting skills.
- Fundamental knowledge of layer 1 through to layer 3 technologies.
- Experience in multi-vendor infrastructure e.g. Cisco, Nortel
- Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to manage client expectations.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task, both independently and as a part of a team.
- A passion for technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a team player and be flexible.

Desirable:
- SCCM administration experience
- GPO Knowledge.
- Experience troubleshooting among other things escalated server, application-related and storage issues.
- Escalated desktop support experience.
- Understanding of Active Directory.
