A key client of Fujitsu Consulting requires a Network Engineer for a role in Calgary until the end of December 2012. The candidate will:
The Role:
- Deliver network architecture / design for field locations or mobile locations such as Locomotives, radio base station, wayside assets and train yards.
- Deliver network architecture / design for Data Centers and Dispatch Centers.
- Ensure work results are complaint with documentation requirements and project priorities.
- Communicate progress, risks, issues and recommended corrective action plans to members of the delivery organization and corporate stake holders.
- Develops or assists the Railroad industry / Vendors in the development of technical specifications for interoperable network systems. This includes the locomotive network, and the interoperable Wide Area Train Control network.
- Develop installation, test/commissioning and maintenance procedures for all Locomotive network systems. This includes specifications for Ethernet, RF, and GPS cable installations.
- Develops installation, test/commissioning and maintenance procedures for all network systems.
- Assists Supply Services in the selection of Network systems products and Network support services, that comply with technical specifications and SLA's.
- Conducts testing of all network systems to validate network system designs.
- As builds engineering drawings once systems have been installed.
The Requirements:.
· University degree or diploma in Computer Science related field. Computer Sciences, Engineering, Project Management.
· 7 to 10 years of extensive experience in the design of local area and wide area networks. Complexity of projects ranges from simple projects with minimal risks uncertainty to medium level projects with some high impact risks and multiple project variables with uncertainty.
· Excellent understanding of IP, MPLS, WAN, Ethernet, Wireless networking technologies.
· Experience with data centre design, security principles, computing infrastructure.
· Problem solving / strong analytics.
· People leadership.
· Coordinating/influencing.
· Engaged by the unknowns of implementing emergent technologies and industry standards.
· Periodic requirement to work long hours in the field to commission installations.
