Job Specifics: Network Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Type: Contract to Hire

 

Responsibilities:

 

•   Lead and Assist in complex network designs and configuration projects in association with a cutting-edge network platform, across a multi-datacenter, production environment.

•   Tier 3 support of production network Infrastructure, and occasional engineering network issues.

•   Hands-on, assists and leads with physical and logical network design, advanced configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, load-balancers, content-delivery devices, firewall/security devices, and other types of networking equipment. 

•   Coordinates and executes critical network operations, such as: critical maintenance, migrations, adjustments on the edge with backbone, technology changes/additions in datacenter networks, hardware/software upgrades.

•   Analyses utilization information and participates in network capacity planning 

•   Work with Technical Services in establishing monitoring alarm configurations with new production implementations.

•   Participates in documenting production infrastructure drawings; Visio

•   Experience with Fortigate, Juniper, Cisco and other industry standard networking brands

•   Deep understanding of switches, routers, firewalls and load balancer

•   Manage the firms growing technology needs for two corporate offices

•   Responsible for the management and successful execution of technical projects and key deliverables, including but not limited to: websites, online tools, technical support, capacity planning
