POSITION DESCRIPTION

Springthrough is seeking a full-time Network Engineer to join our team to assist our infrastructure clients.  The ideal candidate will have related experience, as listed below. 

OVERVIEW

·         This is a full-time Network Engineer position based on 40+ hours per week.

·         Working internally and with customers in the role of Network Engineer to provide the highest level service, communication and technical support.

·         Trusted technical resource for troubleshooting and diagnosing customers technology needs.

·         Maintain and pursue certifications in latest technologies to provide the highest level of support for our clientele.

·         This position may require a flexible schedule, that may change from week to week.

·         Candidate needs to be available and willing to be on-call (rotation) for client support.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Acts as a service and support contact with the client and provides exceptional customer service.

·         Interact with all levels of customers supporting all aspects of infrastructure technology in their environment.

·         Effectively communicate both written and verbally to team and client status of tickets and support efforts/resolutions in a timely and clear fashion.

·         Acts as escalation resource to lower tier support personel to resolve support related issues.

·         Provide quality focused training when necessary for lower tier personel.

·         Tracking time spent on projects, both internal and external, through Springthrough’s hour-tracking system.

·         Maintain service status by following ticket communication procedures.

·         Installing and maintaining hardware including, but not limited to:

o        Server Hardware

o        Destop or mobile hardware

o        Hubs/switches

o        Routers

o        Firewalls or other security appliances

o        Wireless network devices

o        Peripherals

·         Installing and maintaining various software components including, but not limited to:

o        Microsoft Server operating systems

o        Microsoft Desktop operating systems

o        Microsoft Active Directory Services

o        Enterprise Anti-Virus software

o        Enterprise Backup software

o        Line-of-business applications (may vary by client)

·         Attending training classes and/or reading training materials.

·         Maintaining certifications

·         Reviewing work with peers.

·         Participate in on call rotation for nights and weekends.

·         Position requires “after hours support” when necessary.

·         Ability and willingness to learn new areas of competencies.

·         Discipline to diagnose issues where no experience or knowledge is present and entensive research is required.

·         Technical Requirements

o        Proficient at administering Microsoft Server Operating Systems

o        Proficient at administering Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems

o        Proficient in Networking technologies (ie: TCP/IP, Routing, Switching)

o        Proficient at administering Microsoft Active Directory

o        Proficient administering Group Policy Objects (GPO)

·         Hand’s on hardware experience in both server/desktop hardware is required.

·         Self-motivation and a thirst for learning new technologies and tool

·         Desireable but not required:

o        Virtualization administration

o        Microsoft Exchange administration

o        Firewalls or other security appliances
