Junior Network Engineer
Opportunity
Our client sells super fast satellite broadband services. In 2010 they launched their first £100M satellite and in Q2 2012 will launch they`re second with a third and fourth scheduled.
Role
Assist the Communications Equipment Manager in the technical delivery of the network solution including the ground station and terrestrial networks. This includes:
- assistin g in the design, scope of work, procurement and implementation of new network solutions, defining network requirements document, high level design / architecture document and test plans,
- managing supplier work packages during implementation
- provide design level assistance for other business units
- build, configure, test maintain core, provider and customer edge networks
Minimum skills
- Demonstrable experience of Cisco and Juniper solutions (routers, switches, firewalls, IPS), including network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrable experience with a ISP/Telco experience
- Good understanding of Data Centre Build
- Vendor/industry accreditations
- A computer science degree or equivalent accreditation
- Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Project delivery experience
- Competent in authoring quality documents
- Good communication skills
- Ability and willingness to work occasionally extended hours under pressure
Desirable skills
- Proven experience with broadband service provider over satellite or IPOS technologies
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Successful design and delivery of at least two major projects in above domain area
- Good understanding of satellite networks
- Design and build of medium to large Data Centres
- Demonstrate project management capabilities.
