Network Engineer - Cisco / Checkpoint Firewalls / Bluecoat
Our client, a market leading brokerage, requires an experienced Network Engineer.
Role Responsibilities:
· Participate implementation, and operation of a large global enterprise datavoice communication network.
· Develop and support connectivity to several outside networks.
· Provide remedial services to network faults in order to meet the Institution's objectives.
· Provide support for all network system related issues including; firewalls, VPN, switches, routers, IDP, etc.
· Responsible for network monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting.
· Liaise with vendors and service providers.
· Maintains and documents the network system in accordance with Newedge Standards
· Keeps professional skills updated and consistent with current information systems networking technology and desktop workstations.
· Interfaces closely with production services staff
· Liaison with head office and other regional offices to determine and implement global standards.
· Liaison with other departments regarding network requirements e.g. e-brokerage client connectivity.
· Providing support of the European network specifically, as well as working globally with other global members of network support.
· Working on networks projects/tasks in London Data Centre and Disaster Recovery Site as well as maintenance and operation of network infrastructure in those sites
· Work closely with global team on Security policies and implementation.
Essential Skills Experience:
· Extensive experience of installing supporting enterprise networks.
· Strong understanding of TCP/IP.
· Checkpoint firewalls.
· Internetworking technologies.
· Strong working knowledge in the configuration/troubleshooting and maintenance of high end Cisco switches and routers.
· Routing Protocols - EIGRP, OSPF and BGP
· Bridging/Switching - Spanning Tree, VTP, Multilayer switching etc.
· Security - Checkpoint, ASAs, IDS, ACLs, Bluecoats
· Technologies - Multicast, HSRP, VRRP, GRE
· Troubleshooting - Debug, tcpdump, sniffers etc.
· Practical experience in networking monitoring/management applications (SolarWinds, Intermapper, CiscoWorks etc)
· Good knowledge on setting up and troubleshooting VPNs (Remote Access and Site to Site)
· Experience in handling projects independently.
Desirable:
· Working with RSA/SecurID Servers, Radius/ TACACS and AAA Authentication.
· Juniper.
· Etrali.
· Experience in a financial environment.
Salary:
£350-400 per day
