Responsibilities:
- Perform regularly scheduled server and workstation maintenance
- Provide remote support to clients for workstations, servers, and network equipment.
- Provide onsite technical support to clients in the Chicago area.
- Assist with client server and workstation installations and migrations.
- Create and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Prepare formal recommendations for hardware and software-based IT solutions after performing an analysis and documenting findings.
- Provide 2nd Tier help desk support
- Update time entry and trouble tickets daily.
Skills Needed:
· 1-2 years in a technical consulting role providing both remote and onsite technical support preferred.
· 2 or more years experience in the following technologies:
o Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7)
o Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (2003 and 2008)
o Microsoft Windows SBS (2003 and 2008)
o Microsoft Exchange (2003, 2007, and 2010)
o Understanding of Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP)
o Understanding of Network Firewalls, Switches, and Routers.
o Backup and DR software (Symantec Backup Exec)
o Antivirus and Antispam software
o Microsoft Office 2003/2007 including Visio and Project
o Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
o Microsoft and other certifications a plus.
o IP Telephony a plus
