Network Engineer

Specific Job Description This position will be part of a supporting DISA, DoD, and Federal Agencies on the Anti-Drug Network for both SIPRNET and unclassified networks. Candidate will be responsible for Tier 2 resolution utilizing a variety of tools. In addition, candidate will be responsible for assisting in troubleshooting, maintaining, and implementing systems for a variety of DoD and U.S. Government agencies. This position requires knowledge of Remedy, 2000/2003 Server, 2000/XP workstation components, hardware, networking, and various peripherals. Candidate must be able to configure, install, maintain, troubleshoot, implement and repair hardware, software and network problems and plan, design and develop automated solutions to related problems. This position may require on-call support in addition to normal duty hours and local/non-local travel to end user sites. Candidate should be customer focused and possess leadership potential. Knowledge of Customer Support Best Practices desired. MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, CCNA, and security certifications are desired. Clearance: Must have an active DoD Secret Security clearance; DoD Top Secret desired. Due to Local Government security policy unable to consider individuals with interim secret clearance. This position may require upto 25% travel to customer sites within the United States. Standard Job Description Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
