Network Engineer
- Design communication systems using off the shelf components based on customer requirements. This includes all aspects of the design of communications subsystems, including the work of other Engineers and Technologists.
- Design and commission wireless networks, RF systems, VoIP telephones, Public Address audio, digital signage, and CCTV for projects worldwide.
- Oversee technical deliverables to ensure schedule and quality of work are maintained. This includes installation design, software configuration management, RAMS, maintenance procedures and instructions, safety and quality plans and procedures. Prepare test procedures and support Product Introduction to demonstrate compliance of installed communications systems.
- Prepare estimates to complete work tasks. Monitor engineering progress against budget throughout project duration.
- Ensure project staff addresses proper physical interface with the civil and electrical works through specification of requirements and proper follow with QA and the Civil and Electrical Contractors to ensure installation provisions are built correctly.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering;
- A strong knowledge of fiber connectivity and testing is required.
- Detailed knowledge of static routing, redundant routing protocols, access control lists, Layer-2 and 3 networks, spanning-tree, and linear network design. Although Cisco Gigabit networks are primarily utilized, knowledge in non-Cisco based technologies is desired (i.e. industrial Ethernet, ATM, SONET)
- Certification with CCNA, CCNP or CCDP will be preferred.
**Please note that this position's work assignments are not strictly in network design. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate knowledge in other communications disciplines such as wireless networking, RF transmission, VoIP telephones, Public Address audio, digital signage, and CCTV. Hardware design in these areas will frequently be required.
