Job Description:
MedVantx is a rapidly growing San Diego based healthcare services company that places its proprietary MedStartTM kiosk into Physician offices and employer worksites throughout the United States to support the sampling of first line drug therapies and its prescription mail order and other programs that improve patient adherence and compliance.
MedVantx has installed hundreds of MedStart devices in physician offices across the country. The company maintains a network infrastructure to support the secure flow of data to/from the devices and MedVantx central database. MedVantx is looking for an experienced and proven Network Engineer to manage the network, hardware, software and all associated projects and tasks related to the technology.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
§ Management of network infrastructure
o Networking protocols and utilities
o TCP/IP, IPSec, FTP, DNS
o Implementation and support of VPN technologies
o Configuration and maintenance of security infrastructure
§ VMWare development and deployment
§ Cisco hardware experience
o Site-to-site and Client/Server VPN, Firewall, PIX appliances
o Certification a plus
§ Strong Linux background
o Linux systems administration
o Kernel configuration and compilation
o BASH shell scripting
o chroot jail implementation
§ Excellent technical acumen
Job Responsibilities:
§ Technical lead for MedStart device technology
§ Work with customer IT staff to implement and troubleshoot MedStart connectivity
§ Manage installed base of Linux servers and MedStart systems
§ Develop new versions of Linux servers
§ Manage corporate network infrastructure
§ Manage Windows Active Directory and Certificate Servers
§ Backup and restoration of servers
§ Maintenance of server room hardware and phone system
§ Monitor/measure network performance
§ Technical troubleshooting, solution development and implementation
§ Salesforce.com system administration, maintenance and enhancement projects
Other requirements:
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
§ Experience in managing simultaneous projects
§ 4-yr technical degree preferred
§ Cisco certification preferred
§ 5+ years experience in network and systems administration
