Description
The purpose of the Network Engineer position is to assist the Network Services team in the day to day operations of Health Dialog’s data network. The Network Engineer will be responsible for first and second level network related issues, provisioning and network monitoring.
Accountabilities and Activities:
• Process helpdesk tickets, resolve and escalate issues as appropriate.
• Provision network equipment and services as required.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network related events and issues.
• Manage day to day processes and requests.
• Participate in in various projects representing the Network Services team.
Qualifications, Training and Experience:
• Four years of related work experience in the networking field.
• Demonstrate technical skills and troubleshooting ability.
Skills / Knowledge
• Cisco IOS, Catalyst switches (3500s, 3700s, 6500s) Cisco Routers (3800s, 6500s)
• T1, DS3, OC3 and associated circuit technologies
• VPN, VoIP, MPLS, Wireless
• TCP/IP technologies such as DHCP, DNS, NAT, EIGRP, BGP
• Network Monitoring, SNMP, CiscoWorks, Netflow
• Cabling technologies such as Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber
• Check Point firewalls, Citrix NetScaler, Infoblox, RSA/SecurID, Tipping Point experience a plus.
Judgment Skills:
• Suggest recommendations on ways to improve the stability, reliability
• Ability to make concise decisions while keeping the best interest of the business in mind.
• Proficient in prioritizing individual workload.
• Financially responsible
