Network Field Support Engineer Job in Melbourne 3000, Victoria Australia
A global sporting event is soon to arrive in Melbourne bringing thousands of sporting fans along with the glare of the media spotlight to the Victorian capital. To support this spectacle a small pocket of IT infrastructure will require a number of Network Field Support Engineers to provide troubleshooting and assistance to a whole range of network related issues.
The key responsibilities for this role will include:
- The deployment of Uninterruptible Power Supply
- Audit and testing of cabling in a Media Work room
- Configuration of devices into SCOM
- SIP Phones configurations
- IP Phone configurations
- IP Intercom Configuration and Deployment
- Patching of switching
- Firewall Configurations
Key requirements for the role include:
- A strong knowledge of Nortel Switch commands
- A strong practical knowledge of fibre optics using Avaya systems
- Excellent understanding of network protocols, DNS, TCP, IP
- Excellent understanding of hardware - routers, switches, cabling
- Previous experience with large deployments or events would be advantageous
- Strong work ethic and proactive nature
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
