Position:              Network Manager

Location:              J. W. English Administration

 

Effective Date:              Upon Completion of Interviews

 

Classification:              Non-Affiliated (12 Month Position)

 

Salary:              $59,099 - $79,802

              (Non-Affiliate Salary Schedule, Grade 5)

 

DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO

 

Director of Technology Systems.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION

 

1.     The Network Manager will directly support the district’s data network, servers, and telephone system. 

 

2.     The Manager will act as the principal systems analyst in support of the daily network operations. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Skills related to this job include the following:

1.     Must have a BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

 

2.     Three years experience managing an enterprise data network, including VoIP

 

3.     Three years experience managing Microsoft servers, including Microsoft Exchange Server.

 

4.     Good problem solving skills.

 

5.     CCNA and MCSE certification preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.     The Manager will be responsible for maintaining network performance, maintaining network configurations, and troubleshooting network problems and outages.

 

2.     The Manager will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the district’s servers and Active Directory.

 

3.     The Manager will be responsible for network and server backup and recovery.

 

4.     The Manager will be responsible for securing network resources by enforcing policies and monitoring access.

 

5.     The Manager will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the district’s email system, including email filtering, archiving, and mobile access.

 

6.     The Manager will be on call to restore critical network operations after school hours.

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following areas:

 

1.     Installing, configuring, and supporting CISCO network switching, routing and firewall equipment.

 

2.     Installing, configuring, and supporting CISCO Call Manager and Unified Communications, including Call Accounting and IP based paging.

 

3.     Installing, configuring, and supporting CISCO wireless WLAN solutions.

 

4.     Installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Servers, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Certificate Services, and Internet Information Services.

 

5.     Managing and maintaining Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment.

 

6.     Managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server environment.

 

7.     Managing a campus wide fiber optic network, including troubleshooting and facilitating repairs.

 

8.     Managing POTS and PRI lines.

 

9.     Managing Symantec Endpoint Security and Altiris Network Management Suite.

 

10. Managing a network printing environment.

 

11. Managing access control and DVR security systems.

 

12. Managing IP based video delivery systems and IP based video conferencing

 

13. Previous experience working in a public school environment
