Security Clearance: Secret Knowledge of hardware (Routers, CSU/DSU, bridges, multiplexers, servers and switches configuration) - Knowledge of Cisco 2000, 3000, 5000 or 70000 series routers - Knowledge of IPSec gateways Proficiency in the use of various SNMP alert systems (HP Open View, NeuralStar, etc.) - Knowledge of ATM WAN and MPLS Networks -Security + or GIAC certification required. Oversees network management and monitoring operations of the Ballistic Missile Defense Communications Network (BMD COMNET), including operational, test and training networks 2. Monitors network management software, generating ad hoc queries for network assistance, and directing courses of action 3. Sustains a watch on network performance characteristics and infrastructure centers of gravity, and recommends adjustments 4. Centrally monitors and controls network infrastructure, available bandwidth, hardware and server devices, and performs network characterization and optimization to ensure efficient use 5. Analyzes logs and responds to detected security incidents, network faults (errors) and user reported outages - Follow established procedures to respond to events and make necessary repairs - Escalates as required for assistance in isolating the fault and making the repair 6. Interfaces directly with the Shift Lead and customers to provide on-going trouble status and/or to accept customer trouble claims ADDITIONAL DUTIES: - Acts on behalf of the Operations Floor Lead and/or Event Manager when not available. These duties may include coordination with the C2BMC Control Center (CUBE), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), JFCC-IMD GINIC and/or JFCC IMD CERT/CNDSP. Additionally, they maintain daily logs, coordinate with external customers, and review Situation Reports (SITREPs), Operation Reports (OPREPs), Information Conditions (INFOCONs), Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNOs), and C4 Network Tasking Orders (NTOs). In the absence of the Operations Floor Lead, the Enterprise Controller is also responsible for maintaining restoration and recovery plans and procedures and ensuring positive control over network management and defense operations - Although highly unlikely the incumbent of this position may need to deploy on short notice and short term temporary duty to any of MDAs operational theaters as part of a BNOSC contingency and/or network management rapid response team. This is a Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) operations floor position supporting 24X7 operations. Candidate will be required to work 24x7 shift. Sound knowledge and practical experience in management and monitoring of various network infrastructure components, devices and services - Sound knowledge and practical experience with TCP/IP, OSPF, and Cisco ISO commands and troubleshooting - Knowledge and practical experience in the use of remote access software such as Telnet SSH, SFTP, RDP, SSH, SCP, VNC - Knowledge of modern computer systems, client/server, LAN/WAN and Network concepts, modern network management and monitoring concepts DESIRED - Previous experience in the management of Command and Control systems or other large corporate network - Familiar with the current C2BMC and MDA policies, programs and standards for network management - Experience in liaising with other DoD Agencies and associated network operations organizations Knowledge of Visio, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel DESIRED - Knowledge of Juniper routers and hardware - Familiarity with ISIS, BGp, MP-BGP - Widows/Linux/Unix Server maintenance - Candidate should be a self-starting problem solver with the ability to work with limited supervision.
