Network Operations Engineer (304101-787)
An experienced Network Engineer to develop and maintain network monitoring systems for a global network supporting the Priceline group of companies. Supported systems will include routers, firewalls, switches, circuits and servers in multiple data centers and numerous remote offices across the world.
- Administer, maintain and support the security, availability, and performance of the network systems.
- Support the proper functioning of the systems through strong knowledge of switching, routing, TCP/IP, VPN, eBGP, iBGP, OSPF, HSRP, GRE.
- Knowledge of internet firewalling particularly Juniper SSG/SRX running JUNOS. Ability to create and modify firewall policies with minimal supervision is a requirement.
- Ensure the highest possible availability of the networks through strong knowledge of internet routing protocols, particularly OSPF, BGP (internal and external types) as related to Internet based peering.
Required Skills:
Experience with network monitoring tools such as CA Spectrum, NetVoyant, Kiwi, WUG, Nagios as well as general familiarity with SNMP is required.
- Good VPN knowledge (IPSec GRE etc.), Cisco 2921 routers, 3750 switches and Juniper IVE. Ability to upgrade devices without assistance

- Strong knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF and BGP inc redistribution/iBGP/eBGP
- Strong knowledge of switching
- Good knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony
- Understanding of QoS
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP
- Strong knowledge of Internet security (including different attacks and detection/prevention)
- Good Windows domain infrastructures with User/Group/Share privileges
- Good understanding of virus/work/Trojan prevention/detection/cleaning
Required Experience:
- Experience with Computer Associates Spectrum network management Suite of tools (Spectrum, eHealth, NetQoS)
- MPLS, Carrier services and ISP knowledge would be useful. Ability to troubleshoot multiple carrier networks across the world. ADSL/SDSL/VDSL/ISDN PRI/3G.
- Quality of Service (QoS), and Cisco IP Telephony, which should include good product knowledge for products such as Cisco Unified Call Manager and Cisco Unified Unity.
- Network management (knowledge of NetQOS, Kiwi, Radius, Infoblox, Arbor recommended)
- Knowledge of wireless technologies. Aruba or similar would be useful.
