Network Operations Specialist III Job in Tempe 85281, Arizona US
- Ensure all PV power plants are operated and maintained in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring safety is always the highest priority.
- Coordinate activities between the site Technician, Interconnect Authorities, Vendors, First Solar Work groups and business development.
- Perform filings with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Review and approve operating reports.
- Review PV power plant logs for accuracy and completeness.
- Classify PV power plant outages in accordance with approved procedures and complete forced outage summary reports.
- Develop and maintain Normal, Abnormal and Emergency operating procedures.
- Review and approve Method of Procedures.
- Subject Matter Expert for OM software tools including Maximo, PlantView, Wonderware, etc.
- 6+ years experience in power plant operations.
- Worked with DCS systems for power plant applications
- Experience with centralized SCADA/EMS control and decision-making responsibilities to maintain adherence to regulations.
- Experience using anilitical software to analyze equipment performance and identify performance issues
- Possess knowledge of functional systems interactions and must be able to isolate critical elements in a complex system and regulated environment
- Working knowledge of Commercial Power Plant Operations.
- BS degree or equavalent operations work experience and/or operations apprenticeship training.
- Experience may be considered if relevant power plant experience.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
- Ability to take direction, identify problems, recommend solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
- Ability to work in difficult customer situations
- Available for 24-hour on-call duty
- Knowledge of interconnected power systems
- Knowledge of safe switching procedures
- Knowledge of power system Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition-type equipment (SCADA), Energy Management System (EMS), power system tagging programs
- Knowledge of power system generation
- Knowledgeable of requirements OM contracts and the ability to understand complex contracts including power purchase agreements and interconnection agreements.
- Proficient computer skills using MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and Outlook
- Knowledgeable in Procedure and Process development.
- Familiarity with applicable regulatory operating requirements (i.e. CPUC General Order 167)
