Network Operations Specialist recruitment
Job Description:
Explore an opportunity within eSignal (Desktop Solutions), a division of Interactive Data Corporation! We have an immediate opening for a professional and talented Network Operations Specialist for our San Francisco Bay Area location.
- Maintain detailed time-based technical checklists and incident log providing input to ensure accurate and up-to-date information
- Manage large volume Microsoft Outlook of email that is automatically generated or sourced from partners and affiliates
- Support the Technical Service department by answering questions and correcting problems
- Perform backup and recovery functions for IBM Enterprise, Windows, and eSignal proprietary software applications
- Administration and inventory for Microsoft Security Updates
- Applications support and recovery using remote access and monitoring tools like What’s Up, Spectrum, and proprietary alarm applications
- Monitor Internet, corporate WAN/LAN networks and co-locations, responding to any issues with appropriate trouble-shooting action, including establishing backup connectivity and/or contacting Engineering personnel for assistance
- Open and manage trouble ticket with various service vendors: Collocation providers, MCI, HP, Cisco, etc.
- Cabling and wiring of various communications equipment: Routers, switches, telco equipment, etc
- Install network hardware and server hardware as requested by Network Engineering
- Maintain a clean and organized team work environment
- Document remote installations and detailed vendor contact information
- Technical Writing
- Cell phone access is required at all times. Must be flexible to work a shift anytime throughout the day, including holidays.
Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree with 1-2 years work experience (Will also review candidates without degree but having 3-4 years relevant work experience)
- Working knowledge of Open VMS, Windows NT, general telephony and hardware, HP Openview, TCP/IP protocol, HTML, Frame Relay, IP Multicasting and T1-3 communications highly desired
- Ability to troubleshoot and assemble PC and server hardware.
- Basic knowledge of worldwide financial markets and terms
- Strong analytical skills
NOTE: This is a 3rd shift position (scheduled start time is after 11 pm Pacific time).
