Network Security Engineer – Immediate Start Available recruitment

This opportunity is with a leading IT company based in Sydney Hills District.

The successful candidate would be responsible for installation, decommission and ongoing support of Network Infrastructure, including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers and Voice components across a couple of key clients.

The role will include but not limited to the following activities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day to day operations and ensure workload is covered;

• Technical Lead during audits/peer reviews/ KCO/ external audits;

• Ensure all compliance activities are delegated and organised;

• Build/Maintain relationship with all clients and provide support where   required;

• High awareness of individual customer service levels when dealing with problems.

• Interact with various customer service desks and incident/problem managers to ensure customer and internal Management are alerted to severity 1 and 2 problems.

• Callout services to third parties as required.

• Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures as required.

• Act as mentor to team members.

• Continuously look for opportunities to improve current processes;

• Adhere to audit compliances strategies to ensure security and business processes as part of BAU activities.

• Identify opportunities for service improvement and technology innovation on customer accounts

Skills and Experience required;

• Essential experience– Juniper SRX, Checkpoint VSX, F5 LTM, F5 load balancing

• Firewalls (Juniper, Netscreen, Checkpoint, PIX, ASA)

• Bluecoat Proxy and Reporter

• Juniper VPN Concentrator

• Crossbeam and Firefly hardware

• Checkpoint and Juniper Management Platforms

(Checkpoint Smart-1, Juniper Network and Security Manager NSM)

• Sound network knowledge/troubleshooting skills

There may also be a requirement for the successful applicant to either have or be able to gain Federal Government security clearances.
