Our client, a developer of network security products and compliance services, announces an opening for a Network Engineer to join Trustwave's Information Technology team.
Responsibilities:
Manage, maintain, configure and deploy:
- Check Point firewalls, with an emphasis on third-level support. Active Check Point certification is a big plus.
- Cisco IOS network switches and routers. Experience with 2800 and 2900 series router platforms, 3750 and 6500 switching platforms, and IOS software 15.0 required.
- Cisco ASA firewalls. Experience with 5510 series a plus.
- Adhere to established procedures to maintain integrity of documentation and audit information.
- Provide third-tier network support.
- Be able to configure switching infrastructure to support VLAN routing, QOS, BGP, and ACL security.
- Be able to configure WAN routing infrastructure with BGP, QOS, and route selection.
- Manage the security rule base and ACL’s for the company.
- Evaluate network and security design and recommend improvements where practical.
Requirements:
Technical Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a related role with mid to large-sized companies and has demonstrated experience in:
- Experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems, specifically Linux (CentOS and Check Point SecurePlatform)
- Experience implementing and managing firewalls VPNs (preference for Cisco Checkpoint). Must have performed third-level support for these systems.
- Experience with VPN: Cisco IPsec VPN, IPSec, OpenVPN, GRE
- Experience with networking support systems, such as Rancid, ACS, SVN, Syslog, SIEM LEA, MS Active Directory, AD-DNS, Bind DNS, Wireshark/tcpdump
- Experience with system security tools including centralized syslog management, SIEM, IDS, UTM
- Strong, thorough, in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP a must. Must have experience with IP, TCP, UDP, IPsec, DNS, ARP, HTTP, SSL, among other protocols. Must understand VLSM.
- Experience with LAN/WAN troubleshooting tools a must: Wireshark, tcpdump, fw monitor
- Experience with OpenNMS a plus.
Additional preferred skills:
- Experience with configuration control change monitoring tools
- Experience with VOIP technologies and SIP
- CISSP or CISA certification
- Cisco CCNP or Check Point CCSE certification
- Knowledge of compliance regulations (PCI, SOX)

- Self-starter with ability to prioritize many projects and problems independently, as they arise
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills a must
- Willingness to occasionally work scheduled night/weekend times, and to participate in off-hours on-call schedule
- Occasional overnight travel to other Trustwave offices, domestic and international, may be required
