Adecco Engineering Technical is a Systems Administrator for a 6 month contract in Richardson, TX!!!!!
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with marketing, development and test organizations to gain an understanding of our market, customer and product requirements and use cases and determine critical network, system and application thresholds
- Design, implement and maintain Cloud Computing infrastructure for a geographically disperse, global Cloud Computing Environment
- Work closely with management to develop, implement and document operational procedures
- Develop guidance that ensures scalability and high availability while minimizing performance issues
- Work closely with development engineering to evaluate and determine production readiness of software releases using Agile methods
- Analyze complex system behavior, performance and application issues
- Provide technical mentoring to Cloud Service Operations team members
- Attend off-hour meetings with remote teams
- Provide periodic on-call assistance to Level 1 support

Education and Experience Requirements:
- 4 years Unix/Linux experience, including kernel configuration, high availability and scalability design, performance analysis and tuning
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification a plus
- Previous role in a highly available production computing environment

Must haves:
-Proven ability to design, deploy and maintain highly available and scalable UNIX environments based on FreeBSD or RedHat
- Proven ability to work effectively in a UNIX environment. Solid shell, Perl 5.8+, and PHP scripting, Unix tools
- Proven ability to design, deploy and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery systems. Symantec NetBackup experience a plus
-Experience with IP networking, including familiarity with the functionality, operating, and failure modes of networks. --Ability to troubleshoot networking issues at Layer 2 and 3
-Experience with server management and monitoring tools, Nagios experience
-Experience with OS Virtualization, VMWare experience, vSphere 4+
-1 year Cisco IOS installation and configuration experience via CLI (command line interface)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Perl scripting, PHP along with solid skills in Network Administration to include UNIX programming,

  • FreeBSD, knowledge of Netbackup V4, IP Addressing, Data Center Management, Virtualization (Prefer VMWare) andNagios Monitoring, CCNA Cert. or knowledge is a plus.

  • -Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams globally

  • -Experience with Relational Database systems, Postgresql experience a plus
